| Notes | DAPI dye is more sensitive to staining mammalian cells than staining bacteria. It is recommended to stain with a final concentration of 10 µg / mL in PBS or 150 mM NaCl for 30 min at room temperature to stain bacteria. Dead cells are usually stained more brightly than live cells. For nuclear staining, the recommended working concentration of DAPI is 0.5-10 µg / mL.
