Function Microtubule inner protein (MIP) part of the dynein-decorated doublet microtubules (DMTs) in cilia and flagellar axoneme (PubMed:36191189). Forms filamentous polymers in the walls of ciliary and flagellar microtubules (By similarity). Contributes to normal sperm motility (By similarity).
Cellular Location Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, cilium axoneme. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, flagellum axoneme {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q149S1}. Note=Found in the abaxial (convex) surface of outer dense fibers in sperm flagella {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q149S1}
Tissue Location Strongly expressed in spermatozoa. Also detected at low levels in pancreas. Expressed in airway epithelial cells (PubMed:36191189).
